On the Road Again - Nigeria

Conference done and dusted and now heading to Nigeria for few meetings. I'll be in the commercial capital Lagos and country capital Abuja.  Busy but interesting times ahead.

Will i check my dating app to meet any Nigerian guy for a date? Nope! Nigerian guys are amazing, good looking, very well educated, certainly know how to take care of women, but my generation, the guys don't seem to get it.....hey that's my opinion.

They look for the ladies whose dad's are money bags, they marry you but have 2 or 3 girlfriends on the side a.k.a side chick ......its a number's game - there are more eligible single women in Nigeria than there are men, and they remind you they are the head of the house - so their opinions and suggestions makes more sense than yours.

Like i said - my opinion.  these are just things i have seen around.  I think it will be interesting to do a better research than coming to this sort of conclusion.

Dating in Cape Town

I'm currently attending a conference in Cape Town, South Africa and thought - it might just be fun to go on a date whilst here - you find love in strange places isn't it.

So - happn to the rescue...or so i thought.  I liked Chris's photo and he liked mine back - its a charm, says the dating app.  Chris reached out, we chatted a bit and told him i was here on a conference. Immediately asked for my whatsapp number and asked where i was staying.  Told him the hotel and said we could meet up for drinks.  Chris is German living in Cape Town ..and quite global minded.

Chris decided it was best we meet much later in the evening becasue.....he has to entertain his kids after creche..... red flag!!!  Well, i asked an important question - are you married?  Took him 30 minutes to reply.  I guess he was pondering on how to reply - if he should be honest or just string me along.

4th Postion - Italiano

Well, as i had mentioned, i will be numbering my Dates - ref back to 1st week October, i have met the 4th date and that took place on friday 23rd October.

This guy, Italian - let's call him Marc, was the definition of gorgeous....though not so tall - about 5'8 , but he was so much fun, filled with fire and energy.  After chatting on happn for 3 weeks, due to him having so much to do e.g exams, changing apartments, work, cancelling a pre-scheduled date etc, we finally met

From an extremely busy week, i was so tired, but i had some energy for the fun conversation.  He had a loud voice so he was kind of drowning the room in his voice of excitement.  We decided to have dinner at a nice chinese restaurant (its quite tricky to have dinner on a first date - but this guy made it an amazing experience).

Well, after dinner, we took a stroll and suggested he have a drink. i agreed to one drink and told him due an a very long week, perhaps we should have a short one and meet up again when i get back from my trip (i was preparing for some business trips taht would last 2 weeks).  Like Cheshire lad, Marc whisked a cigarette out and started smoking ....then he remembered me.....oh , i hope you don't mind, he said.  I said - well, smoking makes me uncomfortable, but as we're outside, it's fine, 'i'll just move aside a bit from you.

We had drinks at a near by cool bar and this point i was getting really tired, and worn out ...and i didn't want to be a sore date.  Marc was so alive, and this was like 12 midnight and he felt the night was still young - i agree , especially as it was a Friday evening!

We kept talking about several topics such as how many guys i have met through 'Happn app' and how believes Mediterranean guys make the best lovers (he said that with such pleasure) up until he decided it was time to kiss me 'on the lips' - now i have a rule. I don't kiss on a 1st date.  Call me old fashioned, but if i kiss on first dates, i would have lost count with all the lip connections i would have made.  I turned my cheek to him and he kissed that and he goes carpe diem ....you've got to seize the day my lady!!!  That was funny and interesting.

Well, this was a good date and we agreed to meet for a 2nd date when i get back from my business trip.

Oh my days...about time i start making up my mind and choose 1 already.....sighhhhhhh

Update on Cheshire Lad - Back to Number 3

Yesterday, i mentioned about my upcoming date with the guy from Cheshire - if you missed it, HERE it is.

Just to clear any confusions on my choice of photos, I have chosen to use stars born in Cheshire.

Quite a nice evening - very different guy from most of the ones i had been on dates with. Quite engaging, funny and extremely tall!!! Oh yes - 6'5+  and I'm 5'2 , so there you go.

What was even more interesting is, the guy was asking so many questions about my favorite sex positions (if i had any) and if my lady -parts were like baby-smooth or natural (full -bodied bush).  I almost spilled my drink over myself as i was shocked - to get this sort of questions on a first date...too many personal questions.

Perhaps all men from Cheshire have a calming look like the 1D heart-throb Harry Styles, but hey - i will be heading on a date with a guy from Cheshire later today.

The world of online /app dating is indeed interesting and intriguing.  Lets call our Cheshire friend Scott.
Scott and i met on a dating app and exchanged numbers - the text messages has been flowing in pretty nicely and he finally decided it was about time we met......afterall, i wasnt on the dating app to meet 'pen-pals' lol.

Bride turns wedding to a feast for the Homeless. Men......sigh!!!!!!!

Yes - there we go again.....Men....getting cold feet at the 11th hour.  How about not proposing at all or cancelling the engagement long before wedding plans?

This past weekend, a 27 year old bride from Sacramento , California  had the unpleasant experience of her about to be husband, now ex-fiance getting jittery at the last minute, leaving her with a non-refundable $35 000 ceremony meant for 120 people.  Well, her family did a great job of inviting the homeless (families & kids).

As for the non-refundable honeymoon, the bride went on it with her mum.  Gone are the days when prince charming really existed ...looks like they're all extint now and all that's left is men that get cold feet!!

Bride to be Dumped on Wedding Day

How fair can it be, after going on several dates, working on relationships only to be dumped.....on the 11th hour???  this is becoming a more frequent occurrence with men doing the dumping than the other way round.

Toronto based Cyndi Maisonneve, was dumped by the 'love of her life' an hour before they were due to exchange vows.  His excuse...he doesnt want to have kids-while she does.  This guy waits till the 11th hour to make this known?  how heartless!!!

Cyndi  at 23, met her ex-fiance at a baseball game, he proposed after 6 months and called off the wedding in a flood of 'crocodile tears'.
Now 30, She's moved on and happier in another relationship

While Cyndi took things 'easy', another jilted bride took it differently.

Date Free Weekend

This weekend, i decided it had to be date - free.  Simply because i went for my colleague's wedding. However, i did catch up with the guys in my date-funnel - thanks to whatsapp :) .

Whats good for the goose is equally good for the gander...they say. The infamous love ranch where NBA star Lamar Odom, had a downward spiral is owned by a man called Dennis Hoff. This may not be news but from a Wendy William show i watched, Dennis mentioned his female friend is considering opening a Stud Farm.

A Stud-Farm will likely be a welcome opportunity to a lot of women these days. We're at an age where people (including women) are having so much deadlines to meet at work, age of dating app, where men now pick and choose and practically don't see the need to put in work to woo a lady and for those in a committed relationship - unsure or unsatisfied with their partners, so i say why not?

Dating Apps Blues 1 - Tinderville

Well, well, well ...... for those of 'us' who are on Tinder, i guess we use it for different reasons.....as majority now see Tinder more as a hook up app, than a connector.

Tinder is certainly the most popular of all dating apps simply because of its ease of use ...swipe right or left and viola!!! - a bit of human shopping if you ask me.  So how do you know if you'll ever find the man of your dreams on Tinder? Or perhaps thats just a farce...and it can never happen?

I've been on some tinder dates myself, but the very first once almost scared the experience of the rest for me.

Human Shopping or Disposables

I remember in 2013, my first time ever signing up on online dating.  I was nervous and concerned having my face in a public dating platform, but my friend Gert encouraged me - he didnt see any problem with it. He was more concerned that i was working too hard and had no relationship at all.

Fast forward to 2015, with all the dating apps on earth .......... the Tinders, the Happns, Bumble, Tangle and so on and so forth, were you literally just need to swipe left or right, it made meeting guys so much easier, but of course with its challenges too.  I had become a pro at dating apps and encouraging my single ladies to follow suit...after all, what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger.

So far, I've had the pleasurable opportunity to experience the good , the bad and the downright Fugly!!!

Tale of the 29ners - Date 2

Turned out my date yesterday (yes - a brand new one) is 29 years old. ...who cares? I thought i cared until we got talking and this guy has the maturity of a 40 year old - pretty calm, engaging, had an edge, got life all planned out etc , plus...he's a hot Spaniard!!!

Lets see how it goes.

Serial Dating? Nope! Just hedging bets

One could argue i serial date - actually i think i'm a serial dater....but hey, why not? after-all, i mentioned in a previous post on how to apply the funnel style to date life...that's one of the few ways to meet the right one in an extremely busy city like London.

Yes - I'm a serial dater (if there's a word as dater) and i don't apologize for it - i just haven't had the feeling of meeting the one yet, so therefore, i will keep going on dates.

Today's date was a lunch date - a hilarious, good looking British-Indian guy.  Even though i had a meeting booked for 2pm, we managed to meet at 1pm and made the best of it.  Very interesting guy - there's a 2nd date on the cards ....lets see how it goes.  With this guy, it can go either way .....friend zone or maybe more!!! We'll see!  Oh thanks to Tinder for making today's date happen...wohooooooo.

Refusing to give up 😱 - Date 1

While my date tonight was cancelled last minute due to the guy falling ill ( I had to find out why the radio silence -as he had been bubbly over the phone the last 2 days), there's one who's keen to meet up but I'm not keen on seeing him again ( after a first date).

The ideal thing to do is to tell him straight up - I used the subtle means by telling him to go on other dates and not wait for me as I have a busy lifestyle travelling on my consulting job.

2 Dates in a Row

I had a chat with my friend about going for 2 dates last Saturday evening in a space of 3:30 hrs.  He was gobsmacked about how i was able to handle it.  Well, 'I said, they both turned out to be amazing gentlemen'. No pressure on either sides, both were simple men, first one was from Bulgarian British and the 2nd was English.

I can't keep up with you babes , said my friend.  I told him of the funnel function.  As a lady in her 30s, time ticks by pretty fast than your teen  years & twenties - and you need to decide what you really want.  Easiest thing to do is to have a funnel, put all your potential and current dates in it and keep going on - till you meet the one that actually complements you!

When I was young

When I was young, i had absolutely no worries nor care in the world.  My world filled with colourful butterflies - it still is, except now, they are different types of butterflies.

These grown up butterflies are conscious attitude toward gratitude, positivity and every sweet things life brings including challenges.

Like Bridget Jones, i have been having my fair share of dilema when it comes to choosing the one.

Today i went for what could possibly be my 50th date - see, i've lost count!!  Question is, am i picky? or am i too busy to make time out for follow ups or i'm being delusional on the ideal prince charming?

At any rate, today's date was amazing...because we both ended up talking about business opportunities....... yes...those who know me, old friends and even new ones know my number 1 passion is business ....... sigh, i might as well make business my life partner, but mother nature doesnt work that way.
