Sometime in October, I blogged about Tinderville.  If you missed it, HERE it is again.  A lot of people/singles have said Tinder is so 2014 and 2015 ushers in Happn.  The only #datingapp so far on the planet to use GPS to track people that cross one another's path.

Recently i was interviewed by a researcher from a university in the United Stated - who wanted to know my experience so far, the mannerism of the types of matches i have come across and also if indeed i actually see them when we cross path.

Oh much we love 'love'.  Everybody needs somebody.  In the worlds of the Tinder, Happn, JSwipe, TuesDate and so on, the Asian world isn't left out infact, they have some unique interesting Dating Apps - you may want to research on.  These are home grown #Datingapps  listed below in no particular order.

1. Noonswoon 

Made in #Thailand dating app aimed at busy people who don't want to spend a 'life time seeking for the 'ONE'.

Everyday at Noon time, Noonswoon  suggests a person that it thinks is a good match based on the information you provided on your profile.

You have 24hours to like and be liked back on the app - and of course you take things from there to make it work or not.








2. Peekawoo

Straight from the #Philippines,  this app is of a more female-friendly approach.
The app asks you to fill in your preference and offer information about yourself - which sets up a questionnaire for other users to reply to.  If the other person gets the right answers to three out of five, it's a match. From then, you can take it private

With the work that goes into it, it sorts of discourages time wasters and those seeking hook-ups. Also, the community frequently organizes group meetups for people to better get to know each other in a safe environment.



3. Paktor

Birthed in #Singapore, Paktor is the equivalent of Tinder in Asia.
The resemblance is totally alike in look and function.
You swipe left or right to indicate interest or not.

There's also group chat available here which allows you to add multiple people with similar interest (your guess here - is as good as yours).

The app has recently added auto-translation function for multilingual flirting.



4. Woo

Straight from #India - Woo aims to enable lasting relationships.
This is done by matching you with people who have things in common with you at a high chance.
Common acquaintance via Facebook may even play cupid for you and your potential love via the app.





5. Mat & Minah

Another Singapore based dating app, this app targets Muslim singles and the small number of  200 users discourages casual hook-ups .

Mat & Minah is a Malays slang for 'young man' and 'young woman'

The app's niche market is attractive, especially for those into serious relationships.

6. LunchClick


This is another #Singapore birthed app.  This app is targeted at singles who are interested in genuine dates and long -term relationships.

A possible light in the end of the tunnel from all the dating apps out there catering for fleeting encounters, casual hook ups.

LunchClick intends to create a safe environment where its simpler to get more satisfactory offline dates.

The founder was quoted saying,"This is an app for serious daters, if you're serious, come and use our app".

Flash Mob Proposal Fails - Girlfriend rejects ring....says it's too small

Chinese woman rejects her boyfriend's proposal ring...because it was 'too small'.  He got down on one knee, opened the box  and her eyes went wide as she put her hand over her mouth and then turned around and walked away without saying a word! ' said a local witness.

The woman later told her friends on why she rejected the proposal. ' But he agreed to buy me diamon ring as large as a 1 carat,' she said.  'Why was this one so small? Is he so careless or has he ever cared about me?'
The friend reassured her the boyfriend might have been planning to buy a bigger ring.

The internet has been on frenzy with this news and a lot of people are calling her out saying she doesn't deserve it and the guy should consider himself lucky.

Lolade's Corner: Liar Liar!!

.......To an extent, we tell little white lies here and there, don't we?  I don't know of a single person who can confidently beat his/her chest and say there are saints ....oh well except the saints.

We must have all lied in our childhood, either to our parents while trying to avoid being punished for a wrong act; to our friends - pretending to be what we're not; to our employers/employees while trying to be approachable; event to our own siblings; or just about anyone just for the fun of it - trying to get away with what we shouldn't.

Little white lies are quite harmless in nature, the lies often smooth over what might otherwise escalate into an awkward or unwanted situation, but when lies become persistent, glamorized and blown out of proportion, it does become ridiculous and can be quite harmful.  You'll be quite surprised at the rate at which people lie and the extent they'll go to cover it up such lies.

Couples lie to each other, siblings do, children to parent do, office lies are the juiciest and could be very dangerous too.  Lies then take on a soul - when you lie, you need to tell another one to cover up the initial lie and so the layer of coverings continues till it reaches a magnitude that it bursts right in your face!

There's nothing wrong with dreaming- having dreams makes you achieve and accomplish your set goals but a lie is a lie - it's not a dream ..............to be continued

.......and I was like, who's she?
Alex was newly employed at this printout joint or lounge as you may call it.  She was inbetweeen schools and decided it would be best to work and earn a few dollars - rather than laze around waiting for college, so there she was, doing her bit when i saw her.  Alex might not be the most beautiful girl ever, but she had striking features and great physique plus she's got this carriage that's unique to her.  She has this interesting aura around her such that you get drawn to her instantly - not in a sleazy way but you'ld want to talk to her, get to know her and Thank God she wasn't a snub like a lot of girls I know.  Alex - was just cool! she could hold her own in any conversation without trying to dominate it neither was she pea-brained.

Alex - she knew how to have a good laugh, she wasn't clingy, she was just right! Did i fall in love with her after i observed all these after visiting the printout lounge severally? I didn't think Alex was real....of course there are amazing ladies out there, but Alex was just peculiar and being a bad boy, i tend to attract girls like me.

Alex and I are good friends now, she's taken (by a lucky guy) , but sincerely wish the guy could be me. Old habits die hard - so hopefully i meet my own 'Alex' at some point.

6. Grinder - a dating site and app for gay men.  The front page offers a cornucopia of muscled blokes in various states of undress.  It's like a dirty version of a men-only Hollyoaks calendar

7.  EHarmony - Eharmony has website and app and it feels grown up.  On joining, you answer questions so the site can match  you with somebody suitable.

8. GothicMatch.com - this is a place for  black-clad, mascara-wearing glum-buckets.  Misery-loving goths searching for happiness and romance is both an incongruous idea and an utterly heartwarming one.

The web has made it possible to defy geographical restrictions and people of like-minds can meet. Be careful not to give your credit-card details on a chat with potential dates.
